| Description | The Lone Scouts, which is a division of the Boy Scouts of America, that made it possible for "any boy anywhere to become a Scout", selected Camp Barnhardt as the home of their National Museum and Memory Lodge. Located on 1,000 acres of beautiful rolling wooded hills beside Badin Lake, facilities include an Olympic-size swimming pool, BadinLLake for swimming, canoeing, sailing, snorkeling, rowing and fishing. There is a well-equipped handicraft shelter, an ecology building, rappelling tower, COPE course, obstacle course, rifle, shotgun, and archery ranges. The individual hot showers located at the pool help Scouts to be "clean". Sports progams include basketball court, volleyball, softball. Montgomery Campfire Circle, a replica of a Seminole Indian enclosure, is the site for many good campfire programs and ceremonies. The outdoor Barnhardt Chapel is an outstanding example of design and structure in stone and stained glass in a beautiful setting with the lake and mountains as a background. Some of the facilities include our brand new swimming pool, natural and man-made lakes for swimming, canoeing, sailing, snorkeling, rowing and fishing. There is a well-equipped handicraft shelter, an ecology building, rappelling tower, rifle, shotgun, and archery ranges. These provide opportunities for your Scouts to take advantage of the outstanding merit badge and skills programs. Our mature staff was selected for their knowledge, skills and dedication to Scouting principles. |
